Each summer Camp Galileo’s art curriculum is designed around unique themes and accompanied by a weekly camp story. Units focus not just on building art skills, but foster other important skills as well including brainstorming, collaboration, experimentation, revision, and communication. Projects are described in detail for instructors, but also designed to be open ended, giving campers the freedom to experiment and come up with innovative approaches.
As a Galileo curriculum writer I developed Kindergarten art units for the following themes: Oceans, China, Toys, Impressionism, and Urban Art. In addition, I revised and developed activities for units on Medieval Art, the 60’s, and Ancient Egypt.
